Singing is for ‘everyone’, there really are no exceptions!

Singing, offers a wealth of benefits for older adults, and also for those managing chronic pain.

Releasing endorphins (the body’s natural pain relievers), dopamine, and oxytocin, which can reduce stress, anxiety and depression, singing promotes overall wellbeing. Lifting mood and emotional state, it can also improve respiratory control and lung function, and engages the brain in cognitive functions to support memory, and concentration. Great for posture, and relaxation of muscles to alleviate discomfort, singing promotes mindfulness and relaxation, provides social support in a group setting, and fosters a great sense of belonging.
